One of the things that most sticks in my mind from my childhood, are episodes of TGIF shows where money was discussed with the children. Most importantly, I remember an episode where the mom's income was taken out in cash and the child saw how much there was—but then also saw how much went to each bill and expense, and how little was left over afterward.
