I’m really excited about the recently announced colour of the year, as decided by Pantone for 2013—Emerald! This gorgeous jewel-tone will be seen a lot in the coming year, but given that it is the holiday season—I’m sure you’re seeing a lot of this colour this year, too. One of the things I love about the emerald colour choice is that there are so many shade variations. Another thing I love is that emerald is a colour seen in nature—as in the gemstone, but also in trees and grass.
Emerald makes me think of eco-friendliness, nature, and the Wizard of Oz.
Despite the rain (a white Christmas seems unlikely in North Vancouver), I went down to Cate’s Park, which is a gorgeous park with beach access, places to picnic, woodsy paths through the trees, and lovely mountain views. Other than a few people walking their dogs, the park was fairly empty. I took the opportunity to snap some pictures of the trees and other greenery, which were all emerald coloured.
