Add Comforting Essential Oil Scents to your Home

You know how certain scents trigger different memories or associations in your life? The smell of chocolate chip cookies may remind you of your grandmother’s kitchen, for instance. Lately I’ve used different essential oil blends to get in to different states of mind throughout the day.

I’ve been experimenting with essential oil blends and have come up with just the right ones to use for different activities throughout my day. The best way to get the scent of the essential oil blends dispersed through the air is with a diffuser.

Electric diffusers are plugged in and have a reservoir to fill with water and a few drops of essential oils. They turn off after a certain amount of time and also have a safety feature, so that they’ll turn off if the water runs out.

Escents makes a wide variety of different diffusers from ceramic to plastic ones. They fit in well with your décor or blend in to the background, depending on which one you choose.

Escents Zen Diffuser

The Zen Diffuser is made of bamboo and has a beautiful grate on the top, where steam comes out to disperse the scents in to the room. I’m told that these diffusers are flying off the shelves! Likely, because they are really beautiful!

This lovely diffuser sits in a good spot in my bedroom. I use it every night to help me sleep more soundly. As I’m getting ready for bed, I pour in enough water to fill the reservoir to the max line. I then add in a few drops of Escents’ special Sleep essential oil blend.

A blend of pure essential oils including calming Chamomile, Ylang Ylang and Lavender, help reduce tension and are a natural way to help with insomnia and other sleep disorders.

Escents Zen Diffuser

I like that the Zen Diffuser allows you to have two different flows for the essential oil to spread through the air (between 3-5 hours). This works well to help me fall asleep at night. You can also choose to have a soft light glowing from the diffuser, or to shut it off. I find the light really soothing in my bedroom as I’m reading before bed, but then I tend to turn the light off before I go to sleep.

The Zen Diffuser is great for a room or area between 400 and 600 square feet. You can pick one up at your local Escents store, or online.
