When I was younger, it was hard for me to figure out what I “wanted to be when I grow up”—since I loved reading books on a variety of subjects. The DK Canada Smithsonian Knowledge Book lets me pursues my interests in a quick and visually stimulating way. Because so many of the subjects and area of study are interlinked, having a book like this one makes it simple to switch from subject to subject. Looking at the space section and suddenly wonder about space exploration history – flip to that area of the book.
All the basics are brought together – so you only need to search for further information, once you’ve decided you’re really interested in one subject matter. Without having to go out and search for the basic information, this is a great book to keep around the house for reference. I don’t think it is for any specific age group—it is highly visual, so you can show and talk about different subject matters to young children without any issue. DK Canada recommends this for 8 to 15 year olds. . .but I really like the book (for myself).
The DK Canada Smithsonian Knowledge Book is priced at the perfect-for-gift-giving price of $29.99. Really, at that price – why wait for a special occasion?
DK Canada sent me the above-mentioned book so that I could write this feature.
