How to Afford Weddings With Little to No Money

If you want to get married but don’t have much money to spare, you may be wondering how some couples afford to throw their big day. Some of them make their weddings cheaper by renting a venue and hiring friends and family members. Others make money as side jobs and cut their guest lists. Whatever your reasons, you will be able to find ways to make a wedding cheaper. Below are some cheap wedding ideas for those with little to no money.

Budgeting for a wedding

One of the biggest mistakes new brides make is overestimating the cost of wedding venues. Most venues charge for the venue, the food, and the DJ, so budgeting for the whole event should be as low as possible. Also, make sure you consider the cost of renting a blank space for the wedding. This will add up quickly and should be included in your budget. In addition to the cost of a venue, you’ll also need to pay for food and drinks for your guests. You may want to ask your parents for help or make a wedding budget.

You can save a lot of money by choosing a day that has low demand. For example, a wedding in January or February is likely to be less expensive than on a Sunday. You can also avoid hiring a live band, as the price may be lower. In addition to this, you can also choose to hire a DJ instead of a live band, and you can save even more money by booking the same band for more than one event. You can also wear your mother’s dress, as this will be less expensive than purchasing a new gown. Besides, the cost of cleaning and alterations will be much less than the cost of a new dress.

Renting a venue

Depending on the size of your wedding, renting a barn can save you a bundle. In addition, restaurants usually don’t charge rental fees unless you choose a large one. Many will even split the rental rate into four equal payments. If you’re lucky, you can find a venue with a swimming pool for as little as $1,050 per night. To find unique venues, try sites like Airbnb and Vrbo.

While non-traditional wedding venues sound appealing, they often become a huge burden to couples. When renting a venue, you must ensure that you have the resources to organize the entire wedding. A traditional wedding venue will provide many supplies, so if you don’t know how to make your own decorations, look for one that offers a large selection of accessories. If you’re going to rent a venue without any of these, be sure to inquire about the fees for all of those items. Otherwise, you might end up spending more than you initially expected.

Making money on the side

If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on your wedding, there are many other ways to earn extra cash to pay for your big day. For example, you can sell your crafts on Etsy or freelance write on freelance writing websites. You could also drive a rideshare vehicle and pick up extra money for the service. These extra jobs don’t require any special skills but can earn you an additional $250 per month. That’s $3,000 you can use for your wedding.

Alternatively, you could hire yourself to perform certain tasks. For example, if you’re very good with technology, you could teach other people how to set up their smartphones or remove viruses from their computers. You could also sell items on Facebook and earn commissions. If you’re good with computers, you could also digitize photos and VHS home videos. These jobs require little to no experience and are a great way to supplement your income while paying for your wedding.

Cutting guests

A great way to save money on a wedding is to reduce the number of guests you invite. Many small wedding venues are able to cut the number of guests automatically. The key is to create a united front and make the cut. While this can be intimidating, try to remember that your loved ones will understand. Here are a few tips for cutting guests:

Make a list of the people you’d like to invite, and put them into three different categories: must-invite, could-invite, and can-do-without. Those on the list who don’t recognize each other’s names should be cut. If you’d rather not cut people from your guest list, ask their parents for their permission. Also, cut people you rarely speak with or see regularly.

Getting a loan

Getting a loan to afford a big event like a wedding can help you pay for your wedding expenses. These loans can be a great way to save money, and many lenders offer loans with low rates. Taking advantage of a loan to pay for a wedding is a great way to celebrate your new life. You can apply online and receive the money you need in just one day. You can provide basic personal information, such as how much you can borrow, your education level, and your income. Some lenders may ask you about your investments and savings.

Another advantage of getting a loan to pay for a wedding is that you can save money for a down payment and other expenses. Moreover, you can avoid stressing about debts during your big day. You can use an unsecured personal loan or a 0% intro APR credit card to pay for wedding expenses. Moreover, making timely payments on your loan will help you maintain a good credit score.
