6 Fashion Tips to Ensure You Always Look Stylish

From nose rings to fashion accessories, tattoos and piercings, so many people are looking for ways to look stylish and feel good about themselves. The trick is to slowly incorporate these things into your look, even if it seems that they don’t match what you always wear. After all, style is not always the same as following the latest trends. It’s how you mix and match various items and looks with your own personality to present a statement of your identity. But with some decisions in mind, you can ensure that you never have an off day again. 

Whatever your style, there are some tried-and-true tips that can help ensure that no matter what mood you’re in, your wardrobe will work to make you look stylish.

Here are six of the best fashion tips that will help make sure that you always look stylish:

  1. Arrange a capsule wardrobe

Capsule wardrobes are all about having a few well-chosen items that you can mix and match over and over again. Start with the basics — a dark pair of jeans, a white button-down shirt, a black blazer, and a pair of black pumps — then add in statement pieces like an evening dress or Varsity Jacket that can be worn on its own or as part of an ensemble. You can also compartmentalize clothes according to your aesthetics, for example, weekend clothes, work clothes, etc. 

  1. Mix textures

Pairing soft fabrics with hard ones is a great way to add interest to your outfit and contrast. For instance, a leather jacket over a silk blouse looks infinitely better than one over a cotton tee. Try pairing different materials in order to create unique outfits that are sure to get noticed.

  1. Pair a blazer with a graphic tee

Wear a blazer over a plain tee to give it an edgy look. You can also pair the two with denim shorts or pants for an on-the-go outfit that’s still appropriate for work or school.

  1. Dress up a casual look with accessories

Sometimes all you need is a little bit of jewelry, like a necklace or bracelet, to make an otherwise casual look more polished. You don’t always have to wear heels or go overboard with makeup either — sometimes, just adding earrings can make all the difference!

  1. Learn how to balance proportions

How do you know if your proportions are balanced? First, look at yourself in the mirror and make sure everything looks even. If one shoulder or arm looks bigger than the other, or if one hip is higher than the other, then these are signs that something needs adjusting. You can easily adjust these things by adding a belt or wearing heels that make both legs appear longer.

  1. Play with colour

You can have fun with your outfits by playing with different colours. You can wear a vibrant colour with a neutral colour or play with different shades in one outfit. This is a great way to make sure that your outfits stand out from the crowd.

Final words

When out with friends, the most stylish attire is typically not the loudest. When in doubt, stick to dark colours that you feel comfortable in and that suit your body type. The easiest way to improve your wardrobe is to have a good set of basics and classic items that you always have on hand. Remember that less is more when it comes to fashion and style, as it will ensure you never lack something to wear or that clashes with a potential outfit. With this in mind, remember to practice restraint and not go over the top!
