It’s easy to forget things like time and distance when you’re some place beautiful—especially if that place is the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Once, thinking we’d leave Calgary to head to Banff, we were enjoying ourselves so much that we actually missed Banff and ended up in Lake Louise—about 45 minutes too far! Oops. . .

But anyway, isn’t Lake Louise beautiful?

About 2 hours and 45 minutes from Calgary, Lake Louise is great for the entire family. If you’re looking for a romantic weekend getaway, book a room at the Fairmont’s Chateau Lake Louise hotel—which has an amazing restaurant overlooking the gorgeous Lake.
