– A Thrifty Traveller’s Tale Pictures

Greg and I recently went to Portland and Seattle for 1 week, and spent very little. I will take some time to put together a mini-guide with specifics of places to see/things to do, but here is just a teaser. . .some pictures in 5 parts, to show you our trip. I will be creating a downloadable mini-guide soon for Portland, Seattle and Vancouver.

This is part 1 – pictures of the cruise ship we took from Vancouver to Seattle

These first ones are going to be of Vancouver from our balcony on the cruise ship:

The first cruise ship we took was from noon until 7am. It left Vancouver at about 5pm, so we had most of the day to wander about the ship, eat, and relax. We brought along some handmade pizza that Greg made the day before, and sat out on balcony and watched the sun set, and Vancouver’s north shore.

We were lucky to have been upgraded to a nice room with a sitting area and verandah! We’d paid for an inside cabin with a small window, and got this:

The ship was sailing from Vancouver to Seattle, picking up the rest of the people, then sailing for 5 days (out at sea) to Hawaii, several other Pacific islands, then to New Zealand and Australia! Many people were going to be staying on for the whole 30 days! I know that I would go a bit crazy after all that time – especially with the limited variety of veg/vegan food available!

Here are some pictures of parts of the cruise ship, a Holland America ship:
