Although you often hear that age is only a number, it definitely shows up on your skin and body over the years. Your complexion bears the brunt of aging and gives away your age. But a viable beauty and skincare regime can keep the aging issues at bay. Although your thirties are the right age to build your basic defences against damage, you must double the effort once you step into your forties. But women often have no idea about tailoring their routine at this age. Let us share a few valuable beauty recommendations for women over forty.

Ramp up your diet

A balanced diet is the first line of defence against the signs of aging. Besides keeping the extra pounds and inches off your body, it also ensures a youthful and healthy complexion over the years. Adding anti-aging foods like antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies, whole grains, nuts, and seeds to your daily diet is a good start. You can also limit inflammatory culprits like sugar, processed foods, alcohol, and caffeine to prevent wrinkles and sagging.

Stay active

Surprisingly, staying active can slow down and even reverse the signs of skin aging after forty. Try to pick an actionable workout plan to follow daily without breaking the routine. Think beyond sweating out in the gym and opt for outdoor workouts like nature walks and cycling. Yoga is even better because it reduces stress, which ruins your complexion silently over the years.

Schedule beauty spa appointments

Although you must start with beauty spa treatments like cleanups and facials in your thirties, forty is the right age to be more regular with your appointments. Experts at FINETUNE beauty spa recommend frequent professional checks once you step into your forties. An expert can understand the specific needs and challenges of clients, and suggest options such as micro-needling, botox, fillers, and thread lifts. You can rely on their expertise to start with the apt treatments on time.

Protect your skin

While protecting your skin should be a priority at all ages, you must go the extra mile after forty. Never start a day without sunscreen, even if you cannot see the sun. Also, keep the moisture intact by limiting the use of hot water and nourishing your skin with natural products like coconut oil and jojoba oil. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating too hard because it can do more harm than good.

Never go slack with skincare

Another piece of advice for women over forty is never to go slack with skincare. You may focus more on priorities like relationships, parenting, and career once you reach middle age. But set aside time for the essentials, such as removing makeup before sleeping and following a stringent bedtime moisturizing ritual. Avoid leaving things to chance, and give gentle care to your complexion every day.

Your beauty regimen requires to rework after forty, so you must plan and prepare well before you reach that age. Assess your needs and follow these essentials of complexion care to look radiant and beautiful throughout your life.
