(Creating a) Home Tour with Terese
This is part 2 – click here to look at part 1.
Wall Art…
Wallpaper Art, Fabric Art and Canvas Art…each have a DIY project post on my blog. The Wallpaper and Fabric art are in the family room. I went away from the beach theme here, we wanted more of a library area. The Canvas art is just 2 medium sized canvases painted with a background colour then patches of 3 other colours simply ‘scraped’ on thickly. It’s hard to see the thickness and ridges of paint in these photos.
Second bedroom…
Very simple frames with 3 different papers to reflect the contrast colour in the bed linen, aqua/turquoise.
I like to collect objects when beachcombing and make something of them if I can. I have a few objects still waiting to be transformed.
The first photo here is a large piece of driftwood I found one day. It is now a piece of ‘sculpture’. I also love to gather native plants, like these gum leaves, let them dry and display them. Because the house is near the beach and the bush, I have a lot to choose from.
Other touches…
An ottoman I made from start to finish, cushions, a picture frame displaying a Japanese woodblock print from a calendar, the frame with Florence Broadhurst fabric (a bit of a better look at it) and the Paris frames using scrapbooking paper and ceramic tags.
Thank you so much for visiting and thank you Tazim for asking me to be your guide through my handmade decorating projects.
