Decorative Curtains for a Seasonal Décor Change

I’ve long talked about ways that you can quickly and inexpensively change up your décor seasonally. I’ve also shared ideas on how to create a home-y look to your place, even if you’re just renting. One of my favourite ways to accomplish both of my tips is to hang curtains.

Think about it — whether your windows are large or small, they take up a fair amount of wall space, meaning you end up seeing your window coverings all the time. Boring venetian, horizontal or roman blinds are hardly worthy of being the focal point in your home. I love to personalize my the apartments I’ve rented with stylish curtains that suite my décor styles at the time.

To go along with your seasonal décor looks that have cushions, wall art and accessories changed out throughout the year, be sure to change out your curtains, too. With decorative curtains from Simons, which are all reasonably priced, it’s easy to change out your curtains throughout the year. In summer, you may want heavy curtains to block out the harsh sunlight, for instance, or you may want sheer curtains to be able to see the trees outside. Whatever your ideal curtain style and weight, Simons has you covered. Take a look at these 2 that I found on the website:

This heavy corduroy curtain is a great weight for fall and winter. simons-decorative-curtainsThe lightness of this vintage writing printed curtain is great for summertime.

Maybe you prefer a patterned curtain, like the above one – or, something really boldly coloured? Well, trends in home décor change all the time, so an inexpensive way to change up the look of your place, like by swapping out a curtain, is a good way to keep your look current, while staying on a budget.

To make it really easy to put together a cohesive look, the decorative curtains available from Simons have matching or co-ordinating accessories, like cushions and throw blankets. All these elements together work well to transform a room or space seasonally.

Do you like to change your décor seasonally? What style/colour of curtain is your favourite?

I always love to change my home décor seasonally as I hate seeing the same thing, the same décor all the time. It’s fun to change curtains once in a while. I am an avid fan of dark shades and during winter I put thick curtains with darker shades because I like to sleep more on winter. It makes me feel comfortable. It’s a bit different during summer though as it tends to be hot, so changing curtains and décor seasonally for me is a must.
