The time to prepare is now – before the earthquake strikes. Once the “Big One” hits, it’s too late.
Being faced with disaster when you are not prepared will impact you, your family and pets. What will you do? Where will you go? What will you have? Getting prepared does not have to be difficult.
Here are a few tips from Jackie’s book:
-Create a grab and go kit and keep it by your front door
-Have non-perishable food and bottled water available for at least 72 hours, though 1 week would be best
-Keep cash in your emergency kit
-Have an out-of-area contact for you and your family to contact so that you can keep tabs on everyone
Jackie also provides exercises, checklists and more to get you and your family prepared for an emergency situation.
Jackie is giving away a copy of her book (Canada only):
