When things have me down—and right now there are a lot of things on that list—I think about what I love most, and it keeps me going.
Blogging really fills a special place in my heart. Okay, I can’t say that I always love the administrative aspects of blogging, but I do love interacting with my readers, fellow bloggers and the (friendly and respectful) PR reps that supply me with fun things to review and giveaway.
Having this blog allows me to be creative in my everyday life. Blogging is a lot of work, though—which I actually enjoy. I know there is always something I can be doing with my blog, and this makes me happy—even if I don’t get other things on my to-do list done, I know I’m sending another blog post out in to the world (for good or ill). Even though I’ve trained to be an interior designer and worked in that field for a long time, and recently got my degree in Art History, my full-time job is not a particularly creative one (unless you count the creative ways I try to make customers happy with their returns/exchanges), coming home after work to blog is my creative outlet.
Being here in Calgary—where I never thought I’d ever find myself again—has been particularly challenging. I’m grateful for the support of certain family members, even when others have been less than kind and welcoming. I’m, of course—grateful to have Greg in my life, who helps me by writing great blog posts, keeps me motivated and because I know he’ll follow me anywhere—for good or ill.
We’ll be spending Valentine’s Day in our ‘staycation’ home, dog and home sitting, enjoying a movie and some of my favourite cake. I can always count on Greg to provide the best vegan desserts and dinners for an occasion and everyday!
