If you’re a parent, do you wish to give your child(ren) experiences you never had growing up, for the holidays? Or, have you been more concerned with re-creating treasured holiday memories from your youth?
Although, I don’t have children of my own right now, I do have specific memories from my childhood that I wish I could share with my children (when I have them).
What are your fondest holiday memories from your childhood?
For me, I remember going to Heritage Park in Calgary when it was cold and snowy outside. Heritage Park is one of those old-timey places that are set-up to resemble a village. During the colder months, the rides are not up and running, but there are carollers, horse-drawn carriages, the trains to ride on from station to station, hot chocolate and the little houses and shops to pop in to to warm up a bit. The below pictures are not from winter, but they are from late fall:

That looks like a beautiful place to visit – another one on my list to visit when I finally get to Canada!

That looks so beautiful! The memories of the holidays are so much more meaningful than a boat load of toys and gifts.

I loved just spending time with my grandfather – no matter where we were. I miss him greatly, especially at the holidays!
