Post 5: Kitchen
Finally! We have a room in our home that didn’t need any work done to it when we moved in! The kitchen had only been updated a couple of years earlier, complete with a new oven and stove top, fresh paint, a new bench top and new cupboards, so there was little to do besides accessorising.
I continued the red accessories theme throughout the kitchen (as with the other rooms), so we have an assortment of red canisters, tea towels and casserole dishes on display. I also have my nanna’s old crock cooker sitting on top of the cupboards (it’s more of an orange than a red), as well as an old stove top coffee pot that I picked up in Melbourne. I also have a fabulous mint green c.1957 Sunbeam mixmaster, which my husband’s grandma gave me (apparently it works, but I’ve never tried!). We also have a gorgeous apple art work, which is made from Japanese washi tape and was a wonderful wedding gift.
