How to Use Solid Shampoo from LUSH

It’s kind of crazy how much fun and how inexpensive shampoo bars from LUSH are. I find myself reaching to use them even when I also have liquid shampoo at home. Because—did I mention how much fun they are to use?

The Copperhead and Montalbano shampoo bars I was sent also happen to work exceptionally well in my hair. If you think washing your hair with a shampoo bar will make it gross-feeling, like you’ve used a bar of soap in it—think again.

Both the Copperhead and the Montalbano shampoo bars smell wonderfully, work really well to make my hair feel clean but not dry, and add a lot of shine and manageability to my hair.

How to Use Solid Shampoo from LUSH

How to use solid shampoo from LUSH:

Option 1: rub shampoo bar on wet hair few times. A little goes a long way, so you don’t need to use much.

Option 2: rub shampoo bar between wet hands until a lather is formed. Then run hands through wet hair.

Did you expect more complicated instructions? Well, it really is that straightforward! Here’s a tip: stand the shampoo bar up on its end inside the container to allow it to dry between uses. Otherwise, if it remains completely wet inside the container, it could possibly get stuck or be difficult to remove and use again.

Where solid shampoo from LUSH would come in handy (apart from at home):

  • at the gym
  • weekend road trips
  • longer trips
  • camping trips

You can leave a container of solid shampoo in your gym bag and not have to worry about it leaking and making a mess. Think about leaving for a long trip (okay, I’m thinking about it!)—are you really only going to need the tiny amount of allowable liquid you can pack in your carry-on? One of these solid shampoo bars will last you the length of your extended trip and then some!

There are several new solid shampoo bars available from LUSH (to go along with the others that have been around for a while). The Copperhead shampoo bar contains freshly ground coffee, a bit of conditioning henna and lots of cocoa butter. The yummy smell is Fairtrade vanilla absolute and roasted cocoa extract. Opposite of that is the Montalbano shampoo bar, which is a deep-cleansing lemon bar. It’s made of lemon oil, juice and olives. There’s also rosemary to tone and clarify hair.

LUSH shampoo bars can last up to 80 washes! Check out the whole collection on the LUSH.ca website.

I received the two shampoo bars I mentioned in exchange for writing this feature.
