I roamed the countryside searching for answers to things I did not understand.

~Leonardo da Vinci

It’s starting to get nice outside, and the sunlight and green leaves make me want to live out in the country. I’m sure I’ll be bringing you more country  inspired posts throughout the spring and summer —because I just can’t get it out of my head! I used to live in Calgary, Alberta—not in the country, but our townhouse’s backdoor faced an enormous field, where I would walk from my place to the library or shopping strip nearby. I always remember the sweet sound of birds chirping, the smell of flowers and the feel of grass beneath my feet—all things that don’t seem to exist in Vancouver, at least not where I live. I guess I just miss the prairies.

Because vintage plates never come in a full set. . .Love this dish rack/Swedish drying rack, too! This is my kind of country living.

Country table

If I had a backyard, I’d put a worn-looking table outside and sit in the sunshine, enjoying lemonade—until the bugs started to bother me!

And who doesn’t love a good picnic?
