Reminiscing about my Letter-Writing Penpal Days with Paper-Mate InkJoy Pens

It may be because I write so quickly and so frequently (and always have) that my handwriting leaves much to be desired. I am always envious of people with great penmanship.

I once took a test at a flea market that told you things about your personality based on your signature. What was the outcome? Those things told about me when I was a pre-teen are still true today—I’m all about getting things done. I CAN write neatly (though my writing isn’t quite the chicken scratch commonly seen on doctors’ prescriptions) if I write slowly, but for times when it matters—notes in class, exams, telephone messages. . .I just concern myself with getting the message out. These InkJoy pens are great for that purpose, because the ink comes out quickly and smoothly—something you wouldn’t expect. These pens are not gel or ballpoint pens, but something much more unique.

I spent much of my pre-teen and teenage life in my bedroom at a large table writing letter after letter with colourful pens. From luxury to everyday, I confess that I have a deep fondness for pens.

Even in this electronic/digital age, where you can find myriad online note-taking apps, I prefer writing out my to-do lists, blog post ideas and plans. The act of writing these lists helps me to remember what to do, and I find that I don’t need to put reminders on a calendar because of it.

Watch this video for more details on the InkJoy mission to ‘inject fun in to your writing’:

I am someone who really enjoys walking in to a pen or stationery shop (or one of those cute shops that has all sorts of cool things, pens included) to check out the pen selection. I’ve tried and tested a large variety and range of pens. The Paper Mate InkJoy pens write more smoothly than I had expected. What I mean is, given the price-point (starting around $7 per package), I didn’t think these pens would deliver the quality I was looking for. The InkJoy line of pens from Paper Mate contains 6 different types of pens, all containing the newly imagined ‘InkJoy’ technology.

I was provided with pens from the InkJoy range in order to conduct my honest review. I was not compensated in any other way.

How fun!! I'm definitely more of a paper and pen person, vs technology – and these look like a great addition to my supplies 🙂

I absolutely love the feel of putting pen to paper and find myself writing my thoughts out on paper much easier than on the computer.
