Logitech You’re probably familiar with some of Logitech‘s products, and have likely owned a mouse or keyboard made by them at some point (or currently). Did you know that Logitech also makes webcams, earphones, microphones, (and some other cool-looking products not yet available in Canada)? They have a good selection of electronic products in a range of price points, so I’m sure you’ll be able to find something to give your tech-loving gift recipient from Logitech.

I recommend

Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515

Logitech Speaker

About product

This product is quite small in size  – maybe about 12″ long. . .but this is a good thing, because it can be taken travelling. It even comes with a travel case. There is a 10 hour rechargeable battery inside this speaker, making it great for giving presentations or for music at a party. You can listen to music from up to 50 feet away from the device.

Technical Specifications

  • Dual 2” drivers
  • Frequency response: 122 Hz-20,000 Hz
  • Wireless connection: 2.4 GHz -50 feet (15 meters)
  • Power supply: 120 to 240 volts
  • Cable length: 6 feet (1.8 meters)

LogitechPerfect gift for

Someone who travels/lived out of hotel rooms for extended periods of time, who would enjoy having some music to listen to. College/University students who want something small for their dorm rooms. Also, anyone who wants a versatile speaker for home, office, or on the road (ie: a hotel room) – or even someone giving a presentation, since this connects wirelessly to laptop computers as well as iPods, iPals, iPhones, etc.

Value

I really do think that when it comes to electronics, you often get what you pay for. This speaker costs $99, but it is high-quality, durable and puts out great sound, so it is worth the cost. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to ‘set-up’ – the simple, easy to follow instructions come with the speaker for using the included USB adaptor and for pairing the speaker with a device. . .which is what I did. I’ve tried different speakers in this price range before and been unimpressed with their sound output – but this Logitech one makes music sound great!

Logitech

One thing that especially impressed me with this speaker is the inclusion of information on what to do with the battery after it is dead. I really appreciate them including this – many people probably don’t know that they can’t just throw batteries in to the garbage! You should also check if your state/city/county/region has an electronics recycling program, too.

House to Home

Because this would be great for someone who travels often or for a dorm room – this would make an ordinary space feel more warm and homey. I know that I often want to listen to my own music when I travel so that I don’t feel so far removed from my familiar surroundings.

Logitech products are readily available at electronic stores.

I would have loved this in college as opposed to the big clunky speakers that shipped with my computer!
