Oral Care to Cure Wanderlust

I was invited to participate in a focus group the other day all about dental health. The other participants and I talked about what we thought about the way the oral care section in stores was set up, our favourite products, what improvements we’d like to see, etc. One thing that came up often was that there were only really a few brands to choose from. This is true with toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other necessary oral hygiene products. And when it comes to electric toothbrushes, the section is abysmal.

The selection of electric toothbrushes isn’t so small elsewhere in the world, though. I recently learnt about the FOREO ISSA toothbrush, which was designed in Sweden. This toothbrush is different from other electric toothbrushes that I’ve used in the past.

Dental health is out. Oral Care is in.

The ISSA toothbrush makes it clear that it’s not just about dental hygiene anymore. With ISSA, gums, tongue, and cheeks also get some much-needed attention.

The ISSA electric toothbrush directs Sonic Pulse Technology to break up and remove plaque, preventing tartar buildup and cavities, as well as stains to whiten and brighten teeth. Meanwhile, the silicone bristles comfortably massage the gums and inhibit over brushing, preventing gum recession and damage to tooth enamel.

The ISSA is travel-friendly, comes with a carrying case and charging cord, looks stunning, is gentle on gums, yet tough on plaque, and the replacement heads last for one year.

I like that the ISSA has a self-timer with pulses to let you know when it’s been 30 seconds, so you can switch parts of your mouth to brush. There are 8 different speeds, too. It took a few times using the brush to get used to the size of the head and the sonic pulse sensation. Now, I really like how it massages my gums and prevents me from over-brushing/brushing too hard.

It’s easy sometimes to think the “grass is greener” elsewhere. In this case, that other countries have way cooler toothbrushes and body products than we do. Luckily, products from the FOREO website ship to Canada! After my positive experience with the ISSA toothbrush, I’m anxious to try out some of their other products, like the LUNA facial cleansing brushes and the IRIS anti-aging eye massager.
