A Regency Inspired Wedding

Is it true that all girls think about their dream wedding when they’re little? I’m not sure, but when I was younger I thought about my future wedding—how it would be a costume/period wedding where all the guests dressed up and there would be old-style dances.

The Regency period (think Jane Austen) has always been one of my favourites, and it would be much more simple to both dress and decorate in that style compared with others—like Elizabethan or Georgian, for instance.

One of my favourite sites to look at vintage/antique clothing is antiquedress.com. Wouldn’t this Regency period dress, used in the movie Desiree, be fitting?

Here are some inspiring photos to recreate a vintage/Regency period wedding reception:

What do you think of this theme for a wedding reception?
