I’ve gone so much further on trips and stayed in much nicer hotels thanks to points redeemed from my AIR MILES Reward Program account. I feel like I’m being rewarded for doing the easiest things, too—like shopping for groceries, getting gas, and eating out.

Want to be rewarded for picking up school office supplies? Well, that’s great because this summer, Staples and the AIR MILES Reward Program are offering even more value to customers in Alberta. As of now, Staples shoppers, who are  Alberta residents– can earn AIR MILES reward miles on their Staples purchases in store and online.  In order to celebrate the extra rewards (because buying stationery is a reward in itself), Staples and AIR MILES are donating “Summer FUN-damental Packs” to Boys and Girls Clubs of Alberta. Read all about that celebratory event, which took place on July 4th here.

The donated packs are filled with top Staples items to keep young minds engaged this summer.  They’ve also created a special pack just for us, which includes a Kobo eReader, digital camera, and a heap of art supplies, for home and on the road! If you live in Canada, you’re in luck—because this giveaway is just for you!

staples prize package

*Please note that the picture shows a Sony camera, but this prize package actually includes a Fujifilm camera

The prize pack includes ($200 value):

  • Kobo eReader
  • Fujifilm Camera
  • Crayola Colour Wonder Stow & Go Studio– great for the car; this portable pack can be filled with other art supplies too for older kids
  • Craft Pack– filled with all kinds of arts & crafts supplies; endless possibilities
  • Snazaroo Face Painting Kit – comes with how-to book; fun for kids; washes off easily
  • Workbooks/Flash Cards– fun way to keep up skills through summer
  • Stickers – Assortment of stickers
  • Staples tote
  • AIR MILES Gift cards

I truly think that this is the ultimate summer fun pack, because there is something for everyone in the family. Adults can alternate between being the shutter bug and the reader, and the kids can learn for a bit in between crafting and face painting! My younger cousins (well, children of cousins—what do you call that?) really enjoy craft activities and stickers, and doesn’t everyone love painting each others faces? Personally, I think this pack is great for visiting my cousins—I can let the kids play with the art supplies and my cousins and I can take pictures of all the creative fun.

What will my family be doing to keep busy this summer? Moving across Canada. In 2 weeks I’ll be driving with all of our possessions from Calgary to Vancouver, over 2 days, through the most beautiful landscape—from the prairies to the Pacific ocean through the mountains. I’ll be using my new Fujifilm FinePix AX500 camera to capture the memories on the way. This little camera is pocket-sized so it will be perfect for my trip. Driving by myself all that way, I plan on stopping a lot just so I don’t go crazy—taking pictures at each place.

To relax from all the packing I’ll be doing and to take a bit of time to myself at the pit stops, I’ll be making good use of my Kobo eReader. One of the things that takes up the most amount of room when we move is our huge collection of books. We sold almost all of our fiction books—which I will be able to read digitally on my eReader. I look forward to sitting on the beach relaxing my with my eReader or perhaps at the campsite.
