Summer Entertaining Calls for SodaStream

Having guests over for summer entertaining means that not only is the food important, but also the drinks. Since one can of carbonator produces 60 litres of fizzy drinks, you’ll have enough for a party-worth of carbonated beverages. The SodaStream Fizz includes a Fizz Chip to measure the amount of gas in the cylinder and the amount of carbonation in the beverages.

I received the above Fizz SodaStream maker plus the box of 12 samples of soda flavours. I’ve tried a few flavours so far, like the cola, ginger ale, and several of the fruit flavour ones. My favourite of the ones I’ve tried so far is the ginger ale one. I’ve already ordered another bottle of the syrup so that  I could make more for myself and future guests. There are so many flavoured syrups available —I wish they made sample packs with different flavours together in a theme. . .like maybe all the diet ones (which I don’t want to drink) together in one pack.

About the Fizz:

The Fizz Chip’s gas level indicator monitors the amount of C02 left in the carbonator, so you’ll know when it’s time to exchange your carbonator for a full one. The Fizz Chip also shows the carbonation level in your drink as you press the carbonating button so you’ll make your favorite fizzy drinks perfect every time! Available in four bold new colors: green, blue, red and black.

Isn’t the green colour beautiful? I like the silver and green combination!

I can think of so many people who I’d give this to as a gift, and for so many occasions. Wouldn’t this be wonderful for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day? My mom doesn’t drink soda very often, but I could see her making carbonated juices/fruit drinks. For myself, I look forward to trying the Root Beer syrup and also mixing up my own combinations.

The trick is to use cold, fresh water when you make the sodas. When you put the fizz in the water, pour the syrup slowly  and tilt the bottle a bit so that the liquid doesn’t spill out. I learned this the hard way!

The number one thing on my kitchen wish-list was a SodaStream—so I’m pleased to have finally gotten to review one. I received the SodaStream for review purposes, but was not compensated in any other way.

Mighty stuff I enjoyed it. Someone else once said: A person who publishes a book appears willfully in public eye with his pants down.
