The Wellness Show Vancouver 2015
This past weekend, I attended the Wellness Show at the Convention Centre in Vancouver. The show ran from February 13, 14 and 15th. With the amount of workshops going on throughout the day, it was hard for me to decide where to spend my time! Should I learn about overcoming allergies or watch a cooking demo?! #wellness15 @TheWellnessShow pic.twitter.com/zqSY9pe7hq — Tazim Damji (@beingtazim) February 15, 2015 Obviously, I chose to attend the "Got Allergies" talk given by Lisa Kilgour at the ...
YVR Foodies Event — Where Vancouver Foodies Come Together
On June 1st, members of Vancouver meetup group YVR Foodies descended upon a foodie paradise. I never would have imagined that a black brick building along Hastings St. would contain an authentic Italian restaurant, catering service and private function room. The Cotto Enoteca Pizzeria served food, and hosted a group of foodies, bloggers and food bloggers. YVR Foodies is the joint venture of Ricky Shetty, Justin Ruscheinski, and Nadeem Ahmad. YVR Foodies has a meetup group page and a Facebook ...
Why the #mSummit Made Me Wish I Were a Mom
The mSummit is all about "reinventing today's savvy working mom." The new working mom has become a powerful group that is challenging traditions and taking on the 'just a mom' label with a revitalized sense of optimism. These hard working women are well educated, savvy, and balancing lifestyle of family and career. -Meghan Simington, founder of the mSummit and the Reinventing M Network Moms sound pretty great, don't they? Of course, only certain workshops were specifically mommy-focused ...
Vancouver Crate and Barrel Store Opening — Spring Ready!
One of my favourite perks about being a blogger in Vancouver, is attending store openings. A long time fan of Crate and Barrel — having spent hours walking around every one I have come across, while travelling in the USA — I was super-excited when I heard of one opening in Vancouver. The wait was finally over, Greg and I got to check out British Columbia's first Crate and Barrel store, last night, before it was open to the general public. The only other Crate and Barrel store that I've been ...
Emerald Green Garden Looks from the BC Home & Garden Show
I had the chance to check out the BC Home and Garden Show this weekend, and was (unsurprisingly) blown away with the gorgeous landscaping and garden looks on display. Okay, let me get serious here for a second. I know that this is the Home and Garden show, and that the Lower Mainland has a wide variety of cities and towns—but not everyone in this region owns a home/dwelling, let alone has a garden to call their own. I was asked to sign up for a kitchen makeover contest - which I thought was a ...
Christine Friend Interview — Family Friendly Decorating Ideas
Local Vancouver-based interior designer Christine Friend will be speaking at the upcoming BC Home and Garden Show from Wednesday February 20th to 24th at BC Place in Vancouver. Christine Friend is the designer behind Friendly Decorator. She is experienced in family friendly decorating, so I asked her what her thoughts and suggestions are about that area of decorating, but also about a few other topics of interest. Read on for my interview and some family friendly decorating ideas. A design ...

Handmade Holiday Gifts from Circle Craft Christmas Market Vancouver
Yesterday, on a gorgeously sunny Saturday, I went to the Circle Craft Christmas Market in the Convention Centre in Vancouver. Although the market is set-up for holiday shopping, I definitely saw a few things that I wanted to buy for myself. Amongst the typical Christmas-related magnets, ornaments, and stocking, were tons of fashion items. I was surprised to see so many items of clothing—scarves, sure—but do people gift dresses? There were an abundance of hats, too. ...
Vancouver Home & Design Show Highlights
This past weekend the Home and Design show took place at B.C. Place in Vancouver. Running from October 11 to 14th, the show had everything from fireplaces, hot tubs, vacuums and mops, food and handmade products to flooring and. . .a ReStore/Habitat for Humanity booth. One of the better booths was the BC Hydro one, showing passers by how to be power-smart, as part of their Power Smart Month initiative. ...
