Hen House Linens 100% Cotton Napkins Review

by Tazim Damji

napkins cloth

100% Cotton Napkins from Hen House Lines lets you add a little fancy to your everyday routine. Summer entertaining calls for something fun and colourful to decorate the table with. Hen House Linens' napkins are both practical (so much more environmentally friendly than paper towels) and beautiful. It's so easy to change the look to suit the theme of a party or other summer get-together, with different coloured and patterned napkins. The pretty light blue and white ones I received from Hen ...

Love from Sweden—Bantie’s Patterned Home Décor Products

by Tazim Damji

bantie fabric

Recently exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair, Bantie caught my eye with their fun patterns that they use on cushions, wallpaper, and bags. Bantie also sells fabric that you can use to make curtains or whatever else you'd like. I could see myself making curtains out of this fabric, or a bedspread/duvet cover. ...

Wolf Home New York City—The Good Wife Inspired Bedding Sets

by Tazim Damji

I was walking around in New York, on my way to the Empire State Building, and there it was—near the famous Flatiron Building—a poster of the character Kalinda from The Good Wife show. Of course, this was back in September before the new season had started. The window displays really made me want to decorate my home in their lush, exquisite fabrics and furniture. Always on the lookout for home décor shops, I was pleased to come across Wolf Home, especially because they'd displayed bedding sets ...

Living Room Before & After – New Curtains and Rug

by Tazim Damji

Here is proof that a few changes can make a huge difference. We didn't change anything too major - just some soft furnishings. Using our new Laura Ashely NX800 Brother Sewing Machine, we put together some new curtains for our living room with fabric from IKEA. We also bought our rug from IKEA. Here is the sewing machine extraordinaire, incase you haven't read my review post - As you can see, we have some awful checkered linoleum floors and some rather plain curtains. Of course, with the ...

Brother Laura Ashley Innovis Nx-800 Sewing Machine Review

by Greg

A Designer's Dream Machine In our experience, one of the simplest and most radical ways to transform a space is through soft furnishings. From cushions to slipcovers, a lick of fabric can extend the life of old furnishings, transform dowdy pieces into debutantes, and make your home more comfortable. Yet upholstery is often overlooked. Some of us are terrorised by the whimsy of previous generations—lace doilies, dusky rose florals—or worse, avante garde eighties get-ups, like the pink sateen and ...

Fab India

by Tazim Damji

One of my favourite stores in the world is based in India. Fab India has locations throughout India, and an online store (which I have ordered from). The company, which makes all-cotton (made in India) textiles - clothing, curtains and bedding, is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year! Although I think Fab India's clothing is amazing, I especially love their bed linens. What are your favourite pieces from their collection? Photos from FabIndia website. The last one is ...
