The White Cabinet

White Cabinet

Gorgeous illustrations of women clad in beautiful vintage dress, that is what is offered for sale at The White Cabinet. These illustrations are available in gicleé prints and notecards.  Soon there will be wallpaper available, too!

About the fashion illustrations on offer at The White Cabinet:

From the 1940’s to the 1960’s Hilda Glasgow was one of the top fashion illustrators in the industry. She was also my mother. As a woman ahead of her time, born in 1913, graduating from Pratt Institute in NYC in 1933, she illustrated the latest mid 20th century fashions for magazines such as Vogue and a variety of high end department stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue and Best & Co. Her original pen and ink drawings are now being offered as several products including gicleé reproductions.

Each order is custom printed on a heavyweight archival paper which mimics the original paper. They are available in four sizes ranging from 9″ x 12″ to 2′ x 3′.

I was lucky enough to receive a set of notecards from Liz Glasgow, daughter of Hilda, the illustrator. I was sent the 1950s fashion notecards. There are 8 lovely cards in the set, selling for a mere $24! What mom or woman wouldn’t want this as a gift? I think they’d look wonderful framed near a vanity or dressing room! The paper is of a nice texture and good weight, and the print is clear. You can check out the specific set of notecards that I received here. I received the cards encased in a heavy plastic box, wrapped with a piece of ribbon held together with a lovely button/pin with ‘Cyd’ on it. Definitely, the packaging is so great that you could just give it to your gift recipient without further wrapping! Here are a few pictures of the illustrations on the cards:

You’ll have a chance to win the 1950s set of cards that I also received, directly from The White Cabinet, during the I Love My Mommy Giveaway Hop starting May 5th!  Thank you Liz for sending me the cards and for offering a set for giveaway!

So, which of the ladies is your favourite?
