Time to Boss this Blog Around! Being a Blog Boss

This month is my 3 year anniversary of this blog! It’s changed so much over the years and I feel like now is a good time to really think about where I want it to go in the future. One thing that I really wanted to do for my blogging career is take some courses this year. I’ve long been a Holly Becker (of Decor8blog.com fame) fan-girl, so when she announced that she was going to be offering a new e-course this month called Blog Boss, I knew I had to find a way to take it!

Taking charge, making changes

As you may know, I’ve been going through a lot of changes in my life this year, meaning it’s time to make some changes in my professional life as well. I am definitely ready to embrace my blogging career, further it and dive in to more opportunities. One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is the direction that I want to take Being Tazim. I am really passionate about home décor and interiors, but my posts here kind of get lost in the shuffle – and I feel like I also love blogging about all the other topics here as well.

I’ve been blogging less about home décor and sharing more of my personal insights, and focusing on DIY/craft projects. The reason? Well, you heard it here first (true for most of you): I’m starting a 2nd blog!

blog boss

My new blog is called Love Snap Make and is set-up (a bit) all ready. It will focus on unique content, furniture DIY projects, and weird and interesting things found at IKEA (amongst other things). The first homework assignment for the Blog Boss course is all about writing a list of what you love, what you want to improve on and what you don’t want for your blog. Because of the assignment, I have a clear vision for how I want Love Snap Make to look, what it will have content-wise and where I see Being Tazim heading. I’m so excited to get going on the rest of the course, and to getting started on my new blog.

stop-waiting-make-it-happen be your own blog boss

I’m making big changes this year – and my phrase for the year is ‘Stop Waiting’, which applies pretty well to my blogs. I want a career as a blogger full-time, as well as freelancing and all the other great opportunities that are possible. I’m ready to make these major changes and start living the life I want.

How about you? What changes do you foresee for your blog this year?

I love this post Tazim. Somehow putting your goals out there in the blogosphere makes them more "real" doesn't it? It sounds like you are really going for it — good for you! Can't wait to follow your progress.

Loved this post! Your words straight from the heart 🙂 I felt I was having a cup of coffee with you and that you were telling me this. I've been blogging for many years – nearly 8!!! – but only now I feel that I'm ready for the big leap which is to become a pro blogger and that is why I decided to take the BlogBoss course with Holly.

    🙂 Have a lovely Sunday

    Hi Margarida,
Thank you so much for your sweet comment. 🙂 It's nice to 'meet' you! I'm loving the class so far, and am glad to hear that even a seasoned blogger is able to take something away from it – it is very encouraging, as it makes me feel like there is always room to grow.

Congrats on the new blog!! I can't wait to see what goodies at Ikea you find. I have a wall of bookshelves from them I adore, but the shipping cost more than the shelves and the nearest store is 4+ hours away so I'll be wanting a store even more now I'm sure!!

Hi Laura – thank you! Our nearest IKEA is a 'test' location, so we often see stuff that isn't actually out yet. . .weird stuff, usually! 🙂
