How much attention do you pay to the outside of your home? A great and inexpensive way to spruce up your home’s exterior is with some plant-life. Whether you live in an apartment or house, window boxes for plants serve to add a bit of greenery. This is great because you can both see the plants inside and outside.
We have a small balcony, with not a lot of room for plants on the floor, so the window boxes we have on the railing work well to increase the amount of space where we can place our plants. We use our window boxes for growing herbs, mostly, but we do also use these window boxes for flowers – lavender for instance, lasts for years.
There are a wide variety of different materials you can go with for your window boxes, like copper, wood, wrought iron. . . the one below is made of cedar, in the U.S.A. and has been painted a satin white:
This is really nice because it blends in well with the look of the house. Don’t you love these flower boxes?
