As someone who wears glasses everyday, I definitely don’t take my eyesight for granted. I’m happy to be working with ClearlyContacts.ca to promote World Sight Day (October 9th), and to tell you about a way that you can help raise awareness for blindness and visual impairment.
Who blinked first?
Challenge your friends and family to the ultimate staring contest using hashtag #WHOBLINKEDFIRST. For every video shared with #WHOBLINKEDFIRST, ClearlyContacts.ca will donate a pair of prescription eyeglasses, Vitamin A tablets or UV protective sunglasses to someone in need through Change the View.
Watch this video to learn more:
Post your own staring contest videos and use the hashtag #WHOBLINKEDFIRST to be entered to win prescription glasses, $100 VISA gift cards and designer sunglasses!
Here are some global sight facts:
- 258 million people live with low vision or blindness
- 19 million children are visually impaired
- 80% of visual impairment is avoidable
If you’re in Vancouver, register (for free) to attend an in-person staring contest, and be entered to win several cash prizes. Get all the details here: http://www.clearlycontacts.ca/worldsightday
ClearlyContacts.ca sent me a pair of prescription glasses to add to my collection, in exchange for promoting this World Sight Day campaign.
