Vegan Maple Waffles

This recipe could easily have been called “Canadian Waffles,” but that would be a bit weird and stereotypical. Wouldn’t it?

  • Waffle maker


  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup soy milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  • Mix all dry ingredients together in large bowl
  • Mix all wet ingredients together
  • Mix both set of ingredients together
  • Pre-heat waffle machine
  • When waffle machine is ready, fill batter to just cover the grooves.
  • Top with maple syrup, fruit, or


caramel-apple topping:
-cut small pieces of 1 apple into thin slices.
-add apples to small saucepan on low-medium heat
-add 3 Tbsp of brown sugar to sauce pan and stir until the apples are softened
-add 1 Tbsp of maple syrup and keep staring
-when mixture is slightly crispy, remove from heat and serve warm on top of waffles
