Sparkling drinks make me think of celebrations shared with friends and family.

It’s a given that I’ll spend some quality time with my family around the holidays. There are dinners, movie nights, walks in the park to look at the lights, and of course shopping. I cherish the time I’m able to spend with my family this time of year.

I never want to forget how important my friends are to me, though. Before we all spread out throughout Canada to visit family, it gives me the warm fuzzies to hang out to laugh, reminisce about the year’s adventures, and dream about the year ahead with my closest friends.

Any kind of hang-out means there will be plenty of good food to enjoy — but we can’t forget the drinks, too! Here are 3 sparkling drinks to share amongst friends:

Sparkling drinks

I created 3 recipes for my favourite male friends this holiday season. Each drink is customized with characteristics that remind me of my male friends. The drinks are also really easy to put together, and only use a few ingredients. One common ingredient I used is DASANI Sparkling Water, which is the perfect mixer, because it has zero calories, is unsweetened, has zero artificial colors, and it’s caffeine-free.

Bellini Sparkle

Inspired by my friend Alex, who is sweet beyond compare, this drink is like a refreshment and dessert rolled in to one. The perfect after-meal drink!

In a chilled glass, scoop in ½ cup of peach/watermelon sorbet. Add 1 shot of vodka, ½ can of DASANI Sparkling Berry flavour, and finish it off with a sprig of mint. Gently stir together.

Merry Mojito-Mas

Vic is someone I’m really grateful to have in my life again. We went to high school together and connected again over a year ago when he visited Vancouver. Now that he’s living here again, we regularly get together for dinner and catch-up time. He likes his food flavourful and enjoys spicy/tangy flavour combinations. Naturally, I thought it best to include lots of lime in his drink.

This drinks has white rum, sugar (simple syrup or white sugar if you like “sugar surprise” at the bottom of your glass, like I do), lime juice, DASANI Sparkling Water in lime, and fresh mint.

Simple and Sparkling

When it comes to my best friend Greg, what’s simple is true. His is the kind of friendship I never have to question. I know he’ll always be there for me, no matter where in the world either of us end up. For his drink, I chose his favourite alcohol: gin. I kept the drink really simple and uncomplicated.

Gin + lime DASANI Sparkling Water. I served this one of the glasses he and I picked out together. I chose the lime flavour because it reminds me of the fresh lime sodas he and I enjoyed throughout India.

DASANI

What drinks would you mix up for you friends?

It’s easy to find all four varieties of DASANI Sparkling at your local Walmart store. They’re perfect for sparkling the holidays. Sparkling Flavors include: Lime, Berry, Lemon, Black Cherry in 12 pack of 12 oz cans. Which ones will you try first?
