35 feels like a milestone birthday. It’s been a life-changing year, that’s for sure. Many of my goals have been realized, and things have come in to place that will help me along with my long-term plans. Overall, I’m happy with how I’m celebrating my birthday, and look forward to the rest of the year.
1. Reflecting/Self-care
June has been an intense joyride! It’s nearing the end of the 2nd quarter, it’s mid-way through the year, and I’m turning 35 next week! All this calls for reflection time spent journaling, goal-setting, and being still. Much #gratitude to all the lovely new and old people in my life and all the opportunities that continue to come my way! Notebooks courtesy of @makemynotebook at @altsummit #altsummer2015 and the keyboard pouch from @redbubble I’m gearing up for birthday fun and Canada Day celebrations in the next few days! Yay!!

2. Enjoying the company of people I care about
This goes along with #3, but I am going to have a small birthday dinner with a couple of my favourite people, thinking about other favourite people in my life. Instead of spending my birthday by myself, I will be with someone I care about, spending time doing one of my favourite things: exploring cultural institutions.
3. Eating yummy food
Think: cake, pizza, and good company and you’ll have an idea of my ideal way of celebrating! Â I’m going to make pizza (I’ll share the recipe soon!), a chocolate cake with fresh strawberry frosting, and and enjoy it with one of my favourite people. It’s going to be heavenly! This is a very welcome change to having (hee hee) to eat the entire cake by myself.
How do you like celebrating birthdays?
