You may call it spring and summer, and generally think of the seasons as wonderful care-free parts of the year. For me? It’s more like a months-long sneeze-fest. Allergy-sufferers, can you relate? That white stuff floating around in the air. . .it isn’t snow. And my eyes don’t look red because I’ve had too much to drink the night before or not gotten enough sleep. People often ask me if I’m sick (presumably, so they can stay far away).
Having a runny nose, red puffy eyes and constantly sneezing doesn’t make for a very pretty sight! This is especially annoying when I’m trying to spend time at my computer to get some writing done. I need to keep taking sneezing breaks, and can’t see my monitor very clearly. Yes, it does get that bad at times. With no air conditioning (it isn’t very common in Vancouver), I need to keep the windows open to keep cool. That annoying fuzzy stuff comes right in sometimes! Now, I can say “nice try allergens” because I have some allergy relief thanks to what I found at London Drugs.
A chance to go to one of my favourite stores, and check out their allergy-relief selection? Sounds dreamy to me. So, off I went to London Drugs, where I regularly go to pick up toilet paper and non-perishable food stuffs. The thought of finally having something to lessen the affects of seasonal allergies really excited me. . .but then, I got to the pharmacy section and saw the great selection and little yellow sale tags all over the place—my excitement turned to glee!
On the main aisle, this caught my eye—because I was thinking about my red eyes. I picked up the Visine for Allergy Seasonal Relief eye droppers that were on a good manager’s special. There were many other choices, but I was looking for something that was specifically for allergies. I wear glasses rather than contacts because my eyes get easily irritated. The Visine eye drops really helped my eyes feel cool and look normal-coloured, instead of red. I will be carrying this in my purse throughout the season, so that I’ll always have quick relief from allergies for my eyes.
After I took care of my eyes, I went to the main allergy relief section. Didn’t I tell you it was large? I picked up and read just about every single package in this section! I needed to make sure that the medication I selected worked well for the specific symptoms I had—especially my sinuses, which tend to get very irritated. I chose the Claritin Non-Drowsy Allergy + Sinus 30 tablet package. The tablets are easy to swallow and are good for a full 12 hours.
If you’re suffering from allergies, give London Drugs a try—as you can see, they have something for everyone when it comes to allergy needs. I was able to ask a pharmacist for some help, too—even though they were very busy that evening. I ended up picking up several grocery bags worth of tomato sauce, cereal, crackers, nuts and other things to go along with my allergy medicine. It was a pretty successful trip!
Here is a glimpse at the before and after:
I’m going to be outside enjoying summer and the hotter and dryer than usual weather we’re going to be having this year thanks to #CollectiveBias and London Drugs.
