How to Cut Vegetables Uniformly

Do you like to prep your ingredients prior to starting to cook your meal? Or do you like to get things together as you go? Either way, I have a tool to show you that will make things go more smoothly.

I’ve already shared why I love Microplane products—because they’re designed well, have ultra-sharp blades, and make me feel like I am a professional chef in my own home. The Adjustable Slicer with Julienne Blade just reinforces my love for all things Microplane. This product slices and juliennes fruit and vegetables.

How to cut vegetables uniformly

For dishes where you need to have evenly-cut vegetables, or when you need to put together a quick vegetable platter, this adjustable slicer really comes in handy! The slicer is adjustable between 1/32″ to ⅛” for thickness. The food holder makes it easy to push your fruit and vegetables through. I received a Cut-Resistant glove which is described as “Accident protection for the prudent.” – yes, that’s what I need!  This glove protects your hands from being sliced on the super-sharp blades of the Adjustable Slicer. It can be worn on either hand, and is one-size-fits-most.

Not only does this product slice, but it also juliennes. There is a julienne blade that attaches to the front so that you can cut matchstick strips. When it’s not being used, it can be stored on the back of the Slicer, so it’s out of the way and also doesn’t get lost. Speaking of storage, I would recommend storing the food holder on top of the Slicer, closest to the blade.

Here’s the finished product—I used the Microplane Adjustable Slicer to cut onions and red peppers for fajita filling. The meal came together really quickly because of that time-saving device, and I love how everything cooked up evenly.

A few things you can use the Microplane Adjustable Slicer for:

  • cucumber and carrot slices for dips
  • round slices of carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumber for salads
  • potatoes for roasting

If you have a food dehydrator, think of how easy it will be to slice up oranges and other fruit to put in your dehydrator! This will really come in handy when produce is in season and on sale.

What would you use the Microplane Adjustable Slicer for?

I’ll be preparing meals and snacks with the greatest of ease, thanks to the Microplane Adjustable Slicer with Julienne Blade and Cut-Resistant Glove I received.
