Sure, these huge coffee brands sell tasty drinks and seem to be on just about every street corner. But, if you’re on a tight budget and find your daily cup of coffee is really eating into your disposable income, why not have a go at making your cup of joe from home?

You don’t have to be a coffee expert to whip up a delicious brew. Here are some fantastic coffee beverages that you can try from home which are easy to follow and sure to be a delight for your taste buds.

The Perfect Cup

Whatever type of coffee drink gets your taste buds wagging, if there is one thing we can all agree on, it’s finding the perfect cup. For a pristine cup of joe, Cup & Bean have you covered. They have a guide on how to make coffee, which can see you turn from a newbie to a pro within a blink of an eye. You can check out their other guides on how to find the perfect coffee beans and blends too. There are various compartments that go into making a great-tasting cup of coffee. These include water temperature to the water and coffee ratios.

French Press

The French press is an easy, elegant, and simple-to-use tool for making the perfect cup of coffee. It works by directly soaking ground coffee in hot water. Once this is complete, you separate with the help of a plunger. You can make multiple servings per brew. However, this all depends on the carafe size. A French press is cost-effective, leaves you with a rich, delicious taste, and is portable too. This means you can take it with you on a business trip or vacation, meaning you’ll always have tasty coffee at your fingertips.

Iced Coffee

Whether you enjoy an iced coffee in the summer months or when it’s chilly outdoors, this beverage is a favourite for many coffee lovers. The main reason for it is simple. Iced coffee is highly adaptable and versatile. It is a drip coffee that can be served either with ice or alone. There are different kinds of sweeteners and milk you can add to your iced coffee to make it your own too. Iced coffee comes with a magnitude of health benefits too. Drinking iced coffee may boost your metabolism, lift your mood, and even lower your risk of heart disease.

Cold Brew

The clue is in the name in regard to how to make this drink – without heat. Unlike a traditional iced coffee that involves chilling hot drip coffee, cold brews are made by soaking beans in water over a prolonged period. It’s important that this step is taken as the longer it’s brewed, the less acidity and bitterness the coffee will taste. You can either make a cold brew in a special maker or have a go using a French press.

Cappuccino

While cappuccinos may be small in stature, they’re certainly very delicious and a firm favourite with coffee lovers all over the country. The cappuccino is a classic Italian hot coffee beverage. This drink is normally 6 ounces in volume and consists of equal parts steamed milk, espresso, and milk foam. You can enjoy a cappuccino with a flaky pastry or by itself for a classic breakfast. Just be warned, cappuccinos will have more calories when compared to a standard black coffee. The reason for this is simple. Cappuccinos use hot milk and foam milk elements.

Latte

The latte is another popular Italian coffee beverage. They are normally 10 to 12 ounces in volume and made up of one part espresso, a thin layer of milk foam, and two parts steamed milk. What makes the latte stand out with coffee fanatics is how many variations of the beverage there are. The choice is up to you when it comes to making the perfect latte. There are different flavoured syrups you can try out to get it to your liking. These include mocha, vanilla, and of course, pumpkin spice! Drinking a latte comes with potential health benefits too. These include reducing the risk of developing heart disease and may even see you live longer!

Rather than putting your hand in your pocket and paying for in-store coffee, if you’ve got a good coffee maker at home, why not serve up your own without having to leave the front door? Once you’ve dusted off the cobwebs, follow a recipe and end up with a wonderful-tasting cup of joe, you’ll wish you had started sooner!
