DYSON HOT AM04 Fan Heater Review
Do you like beautiful things that are well-designed, have excellent safety features, and are multi-functional? The DYSON HOT Fan Heater is not only an amazing piece of heating technology, it also cools—so you can use it year-round, and this gorgeous conversation-piece can always bring you comfort.
Like the DYSON Air Multiplier Bladeless Fan, which I have previously reviewed, this fan heater has Air Multiplier technology, which means it is safe to run with children and pets nearby. You won’t need to worry about little hands (and paws) getting caught in blades moving really quickly.
I typically put this fan heater on the floor to use, but you can place it on a tabletop as well.
The DYSON HOT Fan Heater can gently be ‘pushed’ —tilted to change the angle of flow. If you want to point the flow of heat to be just on your feet, for instance—you have that option.
Aesthetics
Greg said that the picture above looks like art photography. I think he’s right—our new DYSON HOT Fan Heater totally photographs well, and looks like a work of art. You definitely won’t feel like you have a strange, typical-looking fan in your home. The sleek look of this fan heater will ensure that it doesn’t sit lonesome in the corner—anyone that sees this will want to talk about and see it in action!
So, I’ve already established that this is a beautiful product, but it should also be known that the shape of this fan heater serves a very useful purpose:
Air Multiplier™ technology
Draws in surrounding air to heat the whole room faster than any other.
For more on this great technology, check out the DYSON page for information.
Worried that this tall fan heater will tip over and cause a fire? Don’t be—if it tips over it will automatically turn off, and since there aren’t any visible heating elements, you don’t have much to worry about at all. Of course, if you put your hand inside the inside blue part, it may feel a bit warm.
With the blue light you can see that this fan is cooling the air, and heating when the round on-light is red.
The fan heater comes with a small remote, which magnetically attached to the top of the fan heater (so you won’t lose it). With the remote, you can change the temperature from 1 to 37 degrees (celsius), make the fan oscillate, and also change the intensity of air flow, from 1 to 10—in addition to turning it on and off.
I love how easily I can clean this fan heater—just wipe the inside blue part with a microfibre (my cloth of choice) cloth, and don’t forget the grating part, too.
While other portable heaters typically just heat one area of the room, this fan heater will heat the entire room to a precise temperature. Being in a larger home now (compared to my apartment in Vancouver, which was well under 500 sq. ft.) it is important not to turn the thermostat for the entire home up if I am feeling chilly, because it is wasteful to heat the entire home if just one room is a bit cold. Heating bills are already high given the large size of the home (which isn’t actually very large compared to many others in this city) so I need to be smart about saving energy, and using this DYSON HOT fan heater when I need to.
I’m really excited to have my DYSON Fan Heater for the upcoming winter season, now that I am no longer in a mild climate.
James Dyson says:
“Fan heaters rely on inefficient motors or dust friendly grilles. As the heat rises you’re left with a partially heated room and a worrying burning smell. We’ve developed a heater that heats the whole room, without you having to constantly adjust the temperature.”
Priced at just $449.99, this DYSON HOT Fan Heater would make a great gift for the upcoming holiday season. Who wouldn’t want this great piece of technology in their home? Click here to find out where you can purchase this and other DYSON products. The fan heater also comes in white on white colour.
I received this DYSON HOT Fan Heater in exchange for posting my honest review. All opinions are 100% mine. I was not compensated in any other way. This fan heater is on my list of top housewares gifts for the holiday season.
