Fight Those Winter Blues with a Light Therapy Alarm Clock from Philips

Waking up to the sound of birds chirping and bright daylight is pretty sweet. Actually, looking at the picture below is making me feel more awake and cheerful.

The Philips HF3520 Wake Up Light is exactly what I’ve been needing to wake up much more naturally (without an annoying beeping noise). Sure, it’s an alarm clock, but  it’s also a light therapy device. You can choose how gradually the sunlight will appear – up to 40 minutes.

 philips wake up light

philips wake up lightThe Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light has replaced my regular bedside lamp, because I find the light from this is so much more pleasant. I love that there are 20 different light settings to make it as bright or dim as you’d like. There is a touch-screen menu on the front where you change setting for the brightness of the display, alarm and times, 12 hour/24 hour time, and a few other things. It’s really easy to use and figure out how to customize for your personal preferences.

Highlights

Natural light wakes you gradually

  • Coloured Sunrise Simulation wakes you naturally
  • Dimming light and sound gently send you off to sleep
  • 20 brightness settings to fit your personal preference

Natural sounds wake you gently

  • Choice of 5 different natural wake up sounds
  • FM radio let’s you wake up with your favourite radio show

I like that I wake up to birds chirping and a gradually brighter alarm face. There is an option to wake up to the radio, though.

The Philips HF3500 Wake-Up Light is a much newer model that is also lighter and more portable. It has just 1 alarm setting and only 10 different light settings. I don’t like where the buttons are placed for changing the menu settings as much as I do for the HF3520, but it’s one of the ways that the product is able to maintain its small, sleek design and remain nice and light.

Even though I’ve listed the differences between these two light therapy alarm clocks, I don’t see why you couldn’t have both of them. The Philips HF3520 Wake Up Light is the stay-home bedside-table type of light therapy alarm clock, while the HF3500 is perfect for travelling.

Hoping to up your productivity? Wake up more naturally? Check out the range of Wake-Up Lights from Philips.

I have been able to check out the Philips Wake-Up Light thanks to receiving one. 🙂 This light therapy alarm clock will surely help me fight the winter blues!
