Ozeri Pro Digital Kitchen Food Scale Review

I first started measuring by weight while I was trying to suss out some real Chinese recipes. Looking for how to make classics like home-style tofu, or the perfect dumplings, I went to the Chinese Language section of my library, and checked out a bunch of recipe books that I couldn’t understand, under the guidance of a friend (if only Google Translate had existed back in ’96). Every recipe I found was by weight, and at first I was frustrated. Then I found my Mom’s old kitchen scale at the back of the pantry, and set to work.
Ozeri Kitchen Scale
I was pretty much an instant convert, because (especially if your scale has a tare feature), the recipes come together so much more quickly. You can just pour everything into a bowl, not fiddling with tens of spoons and cups. More importantly, on recipes like dumpling wrappers or baked goods, where getting the right flour to water ratio is vital for success, a scale takes out nearly all of the guess-work.
Ozeri Kitchen Scale
That’s why were happy to include this Ozeri Kitchen Scale in our holiday gift guide. The Ozeri Pro Digital Kitchen Food Scale is on for $19.99 on Amazon.com
The Pro Digital Kitchen Scale is simple and compact, about the same size as my open hand, it’s not too big to store if you don’t end up using it every day; while the plate is large enough for most mixing bowls. The unit is simple. There are only two buttons, one to turn the scale on/off/tare, and the other to swtich between metric and imperial. Our favourite feature is its accuracy. Most digital scales within this price range only show the nearest quarter ounce, where the Ozeri displays a decimal reading and goes up by half-tenths. An added bonus, where the other’s we’ve found in the past run off of 9v, the Pro Digital uses 2 AAA. There are some included in the package, but we’ve swapped ours out for rechargeables.
We were provided with this kitchen scale for the purposes of conducting this 100% honest review. We were not compensated in any other way.
