Vancouver Habitat for Humanity Restore Tour

I didn’t just luck out finding great DIY supplies when I went to the Vancouver Habitat for Humanity ReStore (for the Ultimate Upcycle Challenge) a few weeks ago—there really are a lot of great materials to choose from. Although the selection is always changing as individuals, companies, contractors and others donate their stuff, there is always something interesting to make your own. Check out the outside of the Vancouver ReStore, where there are doors, marble tiles, pots, and more.

Need just a bit of paint for an upcycle project? Why buy a whole gallon of it, if you could buy only a little for so much less? There are rollers and painting supplied new in their containers for only a few dollars, too.

My favourite thing to see at the ReStore was the tile:

I could think of so many projects that I could use that tile on!

Nice, solid wood headboards, footboards and table tops were plentiful.

So many new or great-quality doors.

For only $25 each you could pick up these Canadian-made and designed chairs (retail price is over $200).

So, did you get any inspiration/ideas? I bet you’re going to try and find your nearest ReStore, now—right?
