Watching TV CAN Be a Social Activity
Brought to you by Tubetime. I checked out this new gadget to get social while watching TV.
One way that I’ve found to be social and spend some alone-time relaxing in front of the TV, is by using the Tubetime adaptor and app. Connecting with new people that I hadn’t known before, talking about my favourite TV shows and movies — sounds like a good time, to me. The Tubetime app is free and available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on iOS 5.1.1 and previous versions. I like using my iPad for most things, so I used the connector on my iPad and in my TV. The connectors are $9.95, and available from Tubetime.
What can you do with Tubetime?
- Discover new TV shows, by seeing what’s trending and what’s recommended based on what you all ready watch.
- Find all of the shows you love: set reminders for upcoming shows, keep track of your favourites and personalize your guide.
- Have fun with your app’s exclusive content, like contests, polls and questions in real-time about the shows you’re watching.
- Use the connector and the app as a remote control for your TV, DVD player and home theatre system.

I connected with new people on twitter, using Tubetime. Even though I was relaxing on my sofa, I had the chance to be social at the same time. I played a few of the games and also tested my TV knowledge with the Tubetime TV Quiz — which entered me in to a giveaway. I’m really bad for remembering when TV shows are on, so I’ve made good use of the reminders on this app.
The new social app from Tubetime is a great tool to use on a variety of Canadian cable networks. If you want to see how it works, check out the video below:
