In this busy fast-pased world, I’m not the only one looking for ways to make my life easier. One of the things that make life easier is artificial intelligence, or AI. Artificial intelligence is a term that refers to a machine or device that teaches itself new things as it performs typically by using algorithms. Here are a few examples of AI in our lives.
Applications In Medicine
AI has been used to benefit patients and improve the quality of their lives. Ophthalmologists such as Kang Zhang MD have been able to use this sort of technology to diagnose many eye diseases with more accuracy than a human doctor can. Patients who suffer from depression and anxiety have been able to talk to an avatar better than a person giving them an outlet to express their feelings and feel better.

Assist At Home
One of the most common instances of AI at work is the electronic personal assistants we have in our home. We can call out to our device and ask it to tell us the time, temperature, set an alarm or play music. Some units have screens that can access a website and display a photo or recipe if you are cooking when you ask it to do so.
Drive It Home
There are a few automotive companies that are testing this programming to operate their vehicles instead of a human. While this is still in the experimental stages, it would lessen the chance of a crash and take the risk of drunk or distracted driving out of someone’s hands.
AI Gives You What You Want
Many shopping and entertainment websites already utilize algorithms to determine the shows you like to watch or the items you like to buy. The program analyzes what you look at or purchase then suggest comparable items through the ads that pop up on your screen.

Did you think of all these ways AI makes our lives easier? Or were these new to you?
