Operation Smile Heals Children’s Smiles

If you don’t think mouths are important, or you take yours for granted – this should tell you how important the surgeries are that Operation Smile performs:

“The children who survive are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places, they are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a productive life.”

This is something that I just found out: did you know that every 3 minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate? Sadly, one in 10 of these children will die before their first birthday! Operation Smile is out to change that!

operation smileSounds like a great cause, doesn’t it? One way to donate to Operation smile is through CampusBookRentals.com. They donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented. If you’re like me when I was a student – you don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on textbooks that will just end up collecting dust at the end of the semester or year. Unfortunately, most professors insist that their students have textbooks, so what can you do?

One thing you can do to save money and shelf space is to rent your future textbooks.  Another is to rent your current textbooks to other students with www.RentBack.com. You can make 2 to 4x as much renting out your textbooks as you would by selling them at the end of the semester. Awesome! Everyone wins!
