This month-long trip to the USA started out like many others—with a stop in Seattle, Washington. It’s so much cheaper to fly out from Seattle, and Greg and I both love visiting the city.
We took a 4 hour train ride from Vancouver to Seattle on 2 hours of sleep, the day after we watched movers put everything we own in to a moving van eventually bound for Calgary, Alberta. Greg’s birthday—Sunday, was spent at a nice hotel, which I’ll tell you about later. We spent 3 days eating vegan donuts from Mighty O Donuts and delicious Thai food from The Noodle Bowl, as well as going to Seattle Center’s attractions and an amazing few hours at the Boeing factory tour! You’ll see several full blog posts on this city later.
Going back to the state where I spent 10 years of my childhood was magical. What started out as a detour to Midland to see my dad for a few days ended up being 11 days of driving around West Texas and more. . . we still have 7 days left to see Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. I feel like i’ve been driving non-stop since Dallas, this past Wednesday!
There is so much that I want to share about this trip so far, but it has been very busy and there is so much to see and do that I haven’t yet had a chance.
How was your labor day weekend?
