Summer of Smoothies #SilkSmoothies

In the world of smoothies, it can be said that I’m a newbie. I only bought my own blender about one year ago. I’ve been making up for lost time, creating and sharing some yummy smoothie recipes, though. In an effort to learn as much as I can about putting together the best smoothie recipes, I have been perusing blogs, Pinterest, and asking my friends for their best smoothie tips.

I’ve noticed that using frozen fruit combined with fresh makes my smoothies taste frothy and crisp, while allowing me to use up all the fruit I’ve been buying lately. With all the fresh summer fruit out there these days, why not use some of it fresh, and freeze the rest?

Start out your summer of smoothies with this really easy recipe:

strawberry almond coconut

Strawberry Almond Coconut Smoothie Recipe:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup Silk Almond Coconut Blend
  • 1/2 medium frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk yogurt

Blend all ingredients together. Serves 4.

I want to know: What are your favourite smoothie ingredients?

OR what are your favourite summer smoothies?
