It feels like I’ve been saying the same thing for a long time — but, that’s just it, isn’t it? Not giving up on what you want to achieve and the future you see for yourself. . .it’s not going to happen overnight and it’s not going to happen if you stop trying to make it.
Being on my own for the first time in my life has been really hard. It’s been really up and down in terms of how well I’ve dealt with it all. The truth is, I just never know how I’ll feel, as it’s so easy for me to feel down about things. Feeling anxious and at times depressed has been a lifelong battle. It’s not something that’s easy to admit, as it feels like it’s one of those taboo subjects to be ignored.
I am all for hearing suggestions from friends and others, and I am willing to try new strategies. I’ve tried a number of things to find out what would help me, promising myself that I wouldn’t stick with anything that didn’t feel right.
What do you find helps you when you’re feeling down?
One thing that I’ve done that I never thought would help, is read self-help books. Topics related to happiness, goal-setting and finances are all ones that I’ve been reading about lately.
Facing my fears has been something that I’ve been working on in the last few months. I feel socially anxious at times. I’m fine when people come up to talk to me, or if I know the people, but meeting people for the first time makes me feel anxious. Since I’m wanting to teach others about social media and frugal décor, it’s probably a good idea to feel more comfortable speaking in public, right? Well, the first step was making my first vlog, which you can check out below. I’d love to have you subscribe to my YouTube channel, as I will be sharing videos there, regularly.
