It’s grey outside. Grim is another word to describe it. Today and for many more months to come.
Even though we don’t get tons of snow and storms like other places in Canada and the USA do, rain, rain, and more rain is seriously depressing. Or, when there’s no rain, there’s always “overcast” meaning there’s a blanket of grey covering the city. Right about now I’m daydreaming of being someplace else. A winter getaway would suit me just fine!
Travelling off-season is a good idea when thinking of warm-weather destinations or places that are primarily busy during the summer. Consider Hawaii, Arizona, California and Mexico.
If you’d prefer to visit winter (like if you’re from Vancouver and wonder what cold weather and snow everywhere feels like), there are always destinations like:
Colorado, Switzerland, France, etc. for skiing.
If you didn’t get a chance to visit your friends and family that live out of town over the holiday season, this is the perfect time to do so! Flights are cheaper now and I bet they’d love some company to entertain during these quiet stay-inside months. I often end up visiting my mom and family in Calgary around now.
