Enhance your Outdoor Space for Patio Season

With the relatively short patio season we have in Canada, as soon as the snow melts and temperatures are a little higher than they’ve been in winter, we’re ready to be in our outdoor space!

To make the most of patio season, enhance your outdoor space so that it’s inviting, relaxing, and full of the amenities you need for entertaining.

Lowe’s Canada sent me some ideas and inspiration so that I can share my thoughts with you. I have been compensated for this post, but all opinions are my own.

Choose a Theme for your Outdoor Space

Narrowing down your focus to a specific theme will make it easy to choose pieces that will naturally coordinate with each other. And having a theme will prevent you from randomly picking things you see that make you say “that’s so cute/pretty/inexpensive.”

Lowe’s Patio Collection is broken down into four themes. Each theme has coordinating furniture, accessories, and paint colours. From dishware to cushions, to comfy chairs and dining sets, Lowe’s has all the things you need to enhance your outdoor space for patio season.

In a way, the theme you choose is related to your own personal or familiar theme. For instance, are you globally minded? Maybe more minimalist and modern?

Here are the four themes from Lowe’s Patio Collection:

Enhance your Outdoor Space for Patio Season Rustic Roots – vintage charm, casual and laid-back, with heritage touches from the past up-to-date.

Tailored Tranquility – outdoor spaces are welcoming and classic, with refined accents.

Globally Grounded – Eclectic design is inspired by world travels and treasures brought home from abroad.

Urban Mode – Looks are bold and impactful, striking the right balance between urban and suburban.

Pick your Base Layers

Are you looking for a conversation set? Maybe a dining table? Or perhaps a few benches and a coffee table? The large pieces are the easiest to pick out and change up based on your chosen theme.

Add Colourful Accents

Include pops of colour with lighting, dishware, umbrellas, and other accessories. Choose coordinating colours rather than trying to match colours exactly.

Layer for Added Interest

Add cushions, outdoor rugs, and accessories to complete your theme and make your outdoor space more interesting and inviting.

Which of the four themes would you choose for your outdoor space? I lean toward the Globally Minded theme, as I have lots of things that I’ve brought back from my travels that I would like to use in my outdoor space.

Lowe’s has many things other than furniture and accessories to enhance your outdoor space – barbecues, outdoor lighting, umbrellas, gazebos, and fire-pits! I’m already picturing myself cozy and relaxed outdoors with my friends and family gathered around me in my dream outdoor space.
