How to Refresh your Front Entry

How much thought do you give to your front entry? Is it seen as just a place to drop your shoes and coats? A welcoming front entrance can make your guests feel warm and at home right away. This works for you and your family, too—a relaxing front entry can do wonders for your mood and as a bonus—can also help you feel organized. Read on for my tips on how to refresh your front entry:

How to refresh your front entry

1. Clear your front entry of things that are not regularly used. Having every seasonally-used item stored in your front entrance will make it feel cluttered, and it will be difficult to find anything. Instead, allow in-season items to have pride of place. The Alba Modern Metal Black Umbrella Stand holds my tall umbrellas during the rainy months (October to the end of May), but would be the perfect size and shape to hold my yoga mat during summer.

2. Choose neutral furniture pieces and accessorize with seasonal colours.

3. Include pieces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. I am really digging the Umbrella Stand I recently  got from O.Co, which both holds umbrellas (so they don’t leave wet spots on the floor) and looks great doing so.

4. Select quality pieces over quantity. I always prefer natural materials, like metal and wood, over plastic and other synthetics. I have a wooden stool along side my new metal Umbrella Stand.

I’ve always wanted an umbrella stand, and it would have been logical to buy one 10 years ago when I first moved to Vancouver. . .after all, it does rain a lot here. Instead, I resigned myself to wet spots on the floor of my front entry. The Alba Modern Metal Black Umbrella Stand is a nice, solid umbrella stand—I don’t have to worry about it tipping over. It isn’t too heavy, though.

A few features of the Alba Modern Metal Black Umbrella Stand:

  • Dimensions: 23.6 inches high x 12.2 inches wide x 10.24 inches deep
  • Holds up to 10 umbrellas with ventilation for fast drying, included removable plastic water retainer for easy cleaning
  • Durable metal construction with black powder coated finish
  • Easy assembly

What do you think of my front entry with the addition of the Alba Modern Metal Black Umbrella Stand? (ARV $85.79).  O.Co has a huge variety of other umbrella stands and different things to add to your front entry to refresh it this season. I was able to refresh my front entry thanks to the Umbrella Stand I received.
